Summer is inching closer. Is your body bikini ready?

It can be a difficult task to keep up a healthy lifestyle during the winter months.  Throughout the holidays, food becomes our focus and it's tough avoid eating more than usual.  On cold nights, we may opt for comfort foods as opposed to healthier options because it's something to enjoy and make us feel good. Skipping out on the gym can also become a habit when we want to avoid the brutal weather that lurks outside.  Now that summer is just a couple of months away, it's time to refocus!  It's a great feeling when you can pick out a swimsuit that fits great and makes you feel good about your body.  So, shed those winter layers and work towards feeling and looking your best!

Try working some of the following tips into your daily routine, and you'll be bikini ready in no time!
  • Move your body!  You don't HAVE to join a gym to get the bikini body you hope for.  Just get your body moving and doing exercises that you enjoy and will look forward to.  Try mixing it up during the week so you don't get bored with the same routine.  Some great exercise options are as follows:
    • Riding your bike
    • Walking or jogging around your neighborhood or through a local park
    • Swimming
    • Dancing!
    • Getting fit with a DVD you can work out to in the comfort of your own home
    • Using free weights
  • Incorporate fruits and vegetables into your diet. The more colorful your plate the better when it comes to fruits and veggies.  There are so many options out there and so many ways to enjoy produce.  A favorite recipe website is http://www.allrecipes.com/.  You can literally go to their ingredients tab and type in for example, asparagus and squash, and a list of recipe options will come up with lots of user reviews.  This is helpful especially when you're trying out a new produce option and aren't quite sure how to make it into a meal.
  • Start using your grill!  Electric grills that are made to be used indoors can be used year-round.  Don't just let them hide in a cabinet, put them to use! Grilling your food is great because it cuts down the amount of fat from meat and it's gives food a little extra aroma and flavor.  Don't forget that grills aren't just for cooking up meats.  Grill up some sliced pineapple, asparagus, squash, or strips of zuccini and incorporate them into your meal as healthy sides.
  • Drink more water!  Water is key to a healthy metabolism and to keep digestion on track.  Your body craves it.  Think about all of the empty calories you're avoiding if you replace soda or your favorite sugary drink with water for just a couple of meals per day.
When you look good, you feel good - and these tips will help you with both.  Soon enough, you'll be ready to bare your bikini bod!  Visit http://www.ggoddessdesigns.com/ for some beautiful swimwear options at affordable prices.

Bikini Styles for YOUR Body Type

Bikini's come in endless colors, prints and fabrics...however, the most important factor when choosing a bikini is the STYLE!  You need to feel comfortable in the style of bikini that you've chosen for yourself.  Selecting a flattering style for your body type is easy!  Check out the tips below to determine which bikini style will suit your body best:

If you're...

SMALL ON TOP:
  • Look for bikini tops that feature padding or a demi-bra style.  Also, if they include adjustable straps, that's an added bonus because they allow you to make those minor adjustments to help fill out your top just a bit more.
  • Try a bandeau style top.  It's easier for girls who are small on top to pull them off because they don't require as much support.
  • Keep an eye out for bikini tops that feature ruffles or embellishments around the bustline.  Those are great styles to accentuate your assets!

LARGE ON TOP:
  • Look for bikini tops that offer support.   Halter tops or styles that are banded around the midriff (tied in the back) are great because they allow extra lift and you can adjust accordingly.
  • Avoid tops that are strapless, bandeau styles, and triangle bikini tops that are minimal coverage.
  • Opt for wide shoulder straps as opposed to string tops.  Classic or wide shoulder straps will be much more comfortable and will provide a better fit than string tops.

SHORT TORSO / LEGS:
  • Make your legs appear longer by finding a bikini style that is cut higher on the thigh. Higher cut styles are great for curvy girls with hips too because it accentuates your smaller waist.
  • Mix and match!  Find a great solid colored bottom and a top that features embellishments or areas of interest.  It will keep the focus on the top and give you a longer look.
  • Avoid skirt bottoms or boy-cut bottoms.  They will draw the eye downward and make you look shorter than you may be.

LONG TORSO / LEGS:
  • Opt for suits with lots of fun embellishments!  Jeweled necklines or loop hardware on the hips will look great on your body.
  • Bold, bright colors are definitely your friend!
  • Skirt bottoms or boy-cut shorts will accentuate your long frame.
  • Avoid vertical striped patterns.

Now that you've got the knowledge and tools at your fingertips for the PERFECT BIKINI, you can get out there and enjoy the sunshine...while looking fabulous of course!!
